Meet Fadak | Road to Refuge – Wed 26 Sep @ 6:30pm

$5.00

Co-hosted by

Combined Refugee Action Group (CRAG)

Every Australian needs to meet Fadak.

Fadak is a 25 year old Australian lawyer and community advocate. Forced to flee with her family because of the invasion of Iraq in 2003, Fadak knows how important a strong community is to a bright future.

Despite Australia’s politicians’ attempts to turn the country against Fadak and other people seeking protection, the Australian people welcomed Fadak and supported her to become a lawyer to carve a path for others in her footsteps.

But in fifteen years, Fadak has also seen Australia’s response to the world’s largest refugee crises change from a welcoming embrace into crimes against innocent people seeking protection.

Wed 26 Sep @ 6:30pm

Suitable for people of all ages, please join us at this important community event!

Meet Fadak is Australia’s first refugee-led national speaking tour:

  • to tell the real stories of refugees in Australia
  • to increase Australia’s humanitarian refugee intake
  • to create a long term Australian solution to how Australia treats people seeking protection

Join us at Courthouse Youth Arts to understand the role you can play to welcome people seeking protection here in Australia.
