You may have seen the ‘Pick my Project’ concepts floating around, and here at Courthouse Youth Arts we’ve entered two into the public-voted competition.

At the core of our programming at Courthouse Youth Arts is creating opportunities, platforms and events for individuals aged 12-26. Pivotal to that happening is the funding we receive as an organisation, quite simply, the more we are granted the greater our programs can be.

The two projects we pitched for are our arts program and our music program.

From offering free rehearsal space to bi-monthly jazz bands, hosting monthly heavy metal gigs, acoustic, rap and experimental programs- we want Courthouse Youth Arts to be a landmark place to experiment, play and perform. We will also ignite the ‘lost’ spaces in the building with more eccentric sound installations.

As for our arts, we will provide two gallery spaces for emerging artists; a workshop program facilitated by young artists; artist talks; visual art events; installations and festivals; a courtyard gallery for murals; and a laneway gallery for street art. These activities are guided by the creative needs and interests of our young participants.

We appreciate every single vote, and hopefully together we can help support creatives in the region.
