James Jackson is a director, writer and producer with a Masters of Dramaturgy from the Victorian College of the Arts. He has worked as a dramaturg with the National Theatre of Croatia and Geelong’s Back to Back Theatre, and in 2012, he founded independent theatre company The Bloomshed. His latest work,The Market is a Wind-Up Toy is currently being remounted at Theatre Works in Melbourne and received the Critic’s Pick 2018 at Sydney Fringe Festival. His previous work, The Nose, won the Festival Director’s Award at Sydney Fringe 2017 and was nominated for two Green Room Awards (2019).
Through our Creative Development Program, James and The Bloomshed ensemble will be devising their latest project: The Futurological Congress, a work that speaks to those of us concerned by contemporary political trends
