Kgshak Akec is new to the Courthouse Youth Arts team, and we thought what better way to get to know our marketing and comms co-ordinator than with some random questions?

Get to know Kgshak a little bit better below:

Favourite writers: My favourite poets are Maya Angelou, Edgar Allan Poe (I get the weirdest dreams ever reading his works). Patrick Ness, his Chaos Walking series is my favourite trilogy ever. J.K. Rowling, because harry potter, and Roald Dahl for old times sake.

Currently reading: The Whispering Room by Dean Koontz.

Favourite musicians: I listen to just about every genre; Solange, Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Emeli Sande, Sam Smith and Childish Gambino.

Solution for writer’s block: Watch a movie that is crazy in the visuals department like Alison Wonderland Through the Looking Glass. Something that stimulates my mind.

Mantra: Whenever you’re doing something, do it to the best of your abilities and give your all because you never know who’s watching or what can come out of it.

When you were a kid what did you want to be? An interior designer or an architect—I’m obsessed with architecture. I wanted to be an architect until I found out I wasn’t very good at maths.

Hands as feet or feet as hands: All hands, hands are more useful.

Favourite director: Alfonso Cuaron. He directed the third Harry Potter film, Prisoner is Azkaban. It’s my favourite movie by far of the series, but it’s my least favourite of the books.
