Double Solo Show Opening: ‘Finding my Feet’ by Miranda Jarvis and ‘Harvest’ by Dean de Landre

Wednesday March 28, 6-8pm

For something a bit different we decided to host a double solo show opening with artists Dean de Landre and Miranda Jarvis. With different mediums and content, the two exhibitions will see you experiencing, witnessing and thinking about very different things.

A little on ‘Finding my Feet’ by Miranda Jarvis…

“My sense of self is tied to my productivity. If I am not prolific in my creating, my self esteem suffers. This Summer, I dealt with minor mental health issues that left me deflated, in no state to be inspired. These paintings are lessons taken from my inner child. I painted with my hands and let paint get through my hair and on my clothes. I let ants crawl on my feet whilst I worked in the sunshine and learnt to breathe again.”

A little on ‘Harvest’ by Dean de Landre…

“Harvest is a collection of paintings derived from the national park posters used as advertisement throughout the western world during the early/mid twentieth century. By using these as a starting point, removing the overlaying text, and reinserting other found images I hope to make unexpected and compelling compositions. Through the use of collage and different painting techniques these posters have a new and re-imagined life in a contemporary setting, whilst celebrating their past as great relics of 20th century design.”
