The Kid’s Urban Dreaming – 3214 exhibition shares with the audience a collection of images and installations of work that was created in 2018 over a 12 month period in the outer suburbs of Norlane and Corio. Collaborating with artist Clare Walton the participants created a series of installations and events that highlight the capacity for children and young people to take charge and create their own community, share their dreams and bring the wider community together.
Clare Walton is a Melbourne based artist who works within the community and public arts sector along with exhibiting in a number solo and group shows.
She has been invited to work as an artist in resident at various schools including the Yirrkala CEC School in North Eastern Arnhem Land and Ferncourt Primary School, Marrickville Sydney for the IKEA “Our Community Project”.
Her solo exhibitions include “Hidden Beauty” 2013 at Space 32, South Yarra, as part of the Melbourne Fringe Show and “Faces of Yirrkala” 2012, VU Foyer Gallery, Melbourne. Clare’s group shows shows include “GoodDay – GoodBye”, 2016 at The Food Court Artists Space in Docklands, Victoria and “Civic Heart” 2015, Broadmeadows Town Hall, Broadmeadows.
Her Community and Public Arts Practice highlights have been the NYCHS Older Person High Rise Kitchen Garden Mural Program 2013 at the High Rise Apartments, Lygon Street, Carlton, and the “Our Cubby Project” 2015 at Fitzroy Adventure Playground.
