An exhibition by Miranda Jarvis
My sense of self is tied to my productivity. If I am not prolific in my creating, my self esteem suffers. This Summer, I dealt with minor mental health issues that left me deflated, in no state to be inspired. These paintings are lessons taken from my inner child. I painted with my hands and let paint get through my hair and on my clothes. I let ants crawl on my feet whilst I worked in the sunshine and learnt to breathe again.
Miranda Jarvis is a multi-disciplinary artist from the Otways of Victoria, now based in Geelong. Miranda utilises the mediums of paint, the written word, textiles and photography to explore heritage, identity, heritage and place. Having completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts at Deakin University in 2017, she will undertake her Honours year in 2018.
