Forming around the start of the year, Hiddenite may be one of the newer bands around town but they’re certainly making waves.
They’ll be hitting the In Bloom stage at the Geelong Show (which Courthouse Youth Arts has booked alongside FReeZA and others) this weekend. Find out a little bit more about the band below.
Can you please tell us a bit about your band?
We are an alternative rock band with a hint of folk, singing sad tales of an apocalyptic world and strippers. We are relatively new to the block as a band, only been around since the start of the year. But we are keen to keep playing and get some good music out there for everyone.
How long have you been performing?
We played our first show around half a year ago, opening for local legends Residual, and it went well so we thought we might as well continue!
Do you remember your first gig and what was it like?
They are all different, but there’s always a feeling of excitement to perform to a crowd.
What can we expect to see from your performance at the Geelong Show?
Hopefully some good music, we plan to give you guys a good show!
Who’s another Geelong act (or from around the region) you’d love to collaborate with and why?
Performing alongside Residual is always cool, they have a great energy and sound.
What do you think of the current state of the Geelong Music Industry and where do you think it is headed?
It seems more blues and rock oriented, but hopefully it can grow more.
People need to get out of the house and embrace the music scene here.
What are you social links so people can follow you?
